OUR MISSION AND TEACHER RESOURCES
The mission of the Festival is to educate students about water-related
and environmental issues that support Next Generation Science Standards.
The Festival teaches youth that they can make a difference in protecting
our water resources and the environment for today, tomorrow and for future
generations. Year after year, teachers return to the Festival with their
classes to engage in this unique educational opportunity.
Selections are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Once we reach
capacity, subsequent applicants will be placed on a waiting list. We
strongly encourage you to submit your request as soon as possible.
Confirmation and waiting list notices will be sent electronically.
Consideration to participate in the Festival is dependent on each
teacher's commitment to:
- Create an account and submit an online application for his/her class.
- Ensure that his/her class conducts itself in a respectful manner
throughout the duration of the Festival and complies with Festival
guidelines.
- Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the
ineligibility of your class to attend the Festival and any subsequent
Festivals.
TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
The Festival is a unique and invaluable learning opportunity. We do not
want schools to miss out on this exciting event due to a lack of funding
for transportation expenses, so we will likely be able to subsidize a
portion of the cost of transportation for schools that are truly in need.
The subsidy will depend on the total number of requests received and the
funds that are available.
Thank you for your cooperation and for your support of this
wonderful event. We hope to see your class at the 2026
Children's Water Education Festival.
